Formbreaker Privacy Policy

The short version: Formbreaker collects nothing. It has no accounts, no sign-in, no ads, no analytics, and no third-party services. The game itself does not connect to the internet. The only optional exception is Apple’s Game Center (section 4), which talks to Apple, not to us. Your progress is a file on your own device, and deleting the app deletes it.

Formbreaker (“the game”) is published by Christopher Sotomayor (“we,” “us”). This Privacy Policy explains what the game does and does not do with information. It applies to the Formbreaker app for iPhone and iPad distributed on the Apple App Store, and to this website.

1. Information we collect

None. We do not collect, receive, transmit, sell, or share any personal information or usage data. There is no account to create, nothing to log in to, and no server to talk to. We have no way to identify you, contact you, or see how you play.

2. What the game stores on your device

Formbreaker saves your progress locally, inside the app’s own private storage area on your device. That save file contains only game state, such as:

• your level, experience, health, and unlocked abilities;
• where you are standing in the world and which world seed you are playing;
• which bosses you have beaten, which people you have freed, which places you have found, and which story pages you have read;
• total playtime and your sound and control preferences.

This file never leaves your device. We cannot read it, and it contains no names, no contacts, no location data, and nothing that identifies you or your device.

3. What the game does not do

• No internet use. The game makes no network requests of its own, so it works fully offline and in Airplane Mode. The one optional exception is Game Center, described in section 4.
• No tracking. No advertising identifier (IDFA), no App Tracking Transparency prompt, no cross-app or cross-site tracking, no fingerprinting.
• No third-party SDKs. No advertising, analytics, attribution, or crash-reporting services are embedded in the game.
• No purchases. No in-app purchases, no subscriptions, no in-game currency, no randomized paid rewards.
• No permissions. The game never asks for your location, camera, microphone, photos, contacts, calendars, health data, or notifications.
• No social features. No chat, no messaging, no user accounts, no user-generated content, and no sharing. The only leaderboards are Apple’s Game Center ones, and only if you are signed in to it.

4. Game Center, and information Apple may provide to us

Game Center (optional). Since version 1.1 the game can report your boss-rematch times and your run’s record to Apple’s Game Center leaderboards, and unlock Game Center achievements for the medals and the ending. This happens only if you are signed in to Game Center on your device, and it is Apple’s service: the scores go to Apple under your Apple Account, and Apple’s Privacy Policy governs them. We never receive them and cannot see them. If you are not signed in, or you sign out of Game Center in iOS Settings, nothing is sent and every part of the game still works.

Because the game is sold through the App Store, Apple may give us aggregate, anonymous reports about downloads, territories, and app versions, and may share crash logs and performance data if you have chosen to share diagnostics with developers in your device settings. That information comes from Apple, is not gathered by the game, and does not identify you to us. Apple’s own handling of your information is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.

5. Children’s privacy

Formbreaker is suitable for a general audience and contains no ads, no purchases, no links out of the app, and no way to communicate with anyone. Because the game collects no information from anyone, it collects no information from children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 — or from anyone else.

6. Your choices and your data

There is no data of yours in our hands, so there is nothing for us to correct, export, or delete. To remove your saved progress, delete the app from your device; the save file is removed with it. Offloading the app in iOS Settings keeps the save; deleting the app does not.

7. Security

Your save file is stored in the app’s sandboxed container, protected by iOS. Since nothing is transmitted or stored by us, there is no server-side data to breach.

8. This website

This site — the Formbreaker home page and its support, privacy, and terms pages — sets no cookies, runs no analytics or advertising, and has no accounts or forms. The home page loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, so your browser fetches them from Google’s servers, which receive the standard details of any web request, such as your IP address; see Google’s Privacy Policy. The service that hosts these pages may keep ordinary server logs (such as IP address and the page requested) to keep the site running; we do not use them to identify anyone.

9. Changes to this policy

If the game ever changes in a way that affects this policy — for example if a future version added an optional online feature — we will update this page and change the date above before that version ships. Material changes will also be described in the App Store release notes.
